Art Ford, lead singer and rhythm player for COUNTRY PLUS. Started singing as a teenager in bars in southern Illinois where he grew up. After moving to the Chicago area in the late 60's he started a country band and stayed with them for ten years and played three nights a week in the western suburbs at which time he had the privilege of opening shows for Dell Reeves and Connie Smith. Then he decided that he wanted to be a truck driver so bought his own tractor and trailer and put music on hold. When he and his wife Linda bought their retirement home in Wisconsin and started thinking about retiring he started the COUNTRY PLUS band and mixed music and trucking for a few years. In all these years he has never forgotten his home, town-twice a year he and three other hometown guys go back and do an all day music show to support the community activities. Every August Art and his two sons play a weekend festival in their hometown.
